Money and Happiness: How to Have More of Both

Why do happy people make better investors? Why do most investors achieve less than half the returns they should? Why are lottery winners no happier than the rest of us? What makes mature women better investors than young men?  And how can we have more money and more happiness?

How we think has a huge effect on our success in life and the financial markets.
But what causes us to think in the way that we do?  And why does this lead us to make choices that do not make us either happy or wealthy?

Drawing on latest Nobel prize winning behavioural research from the USA plus twenty five years of practical experience, Arun Abey will explain the thinking traps that prevent us from having more happiness and more money and how to overcome these.

Arun Abey has had a diverse career as an academic, an entrepreneur and is now a top executive of one of the world’s largest firms.  He is involved in a number of philanthropic activities and is the author of various international best sellers.

What connects these diverse activities together is Arun’s passion for ideas that help people enjoy happier, more meaningful and financially secure lives. This led him to co-found the international lifestyle financial planning firm ipac which has enjoyed 25 years of uninterrupted growth.

A noted strategic thinker and writer, he is Executive Chairman of ipac and Head of Strategy for AXA in the Asia Pacific; a part of the global AXA group that manages over $US1.5 trillion of clients money and is ranked as 15th largest company in the world by Fortune Magazine.

His first book, Fortune Strategy, was described by The Financial Review as one of the best books published on investment.  His latest book How Much is Enough?, has been described by Professor Shlomo Benartzi of UCLA as a book that: “Will make you rethink how you live your life…bringing together research in behavioural finance and psychology in a very practical way.”
